We are seeking a passionate and experienced Theatre Educator to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Theatre education.


Recently £18m has been invested into a new planned day-case unit at St Lukes Hospital which has been designed to tackle the backlog of patients waiting elective surgeries.


The brand-new sate of the art Day Case unit will stand separate to Bradford Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust main site at Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI) and will solely deliver planned surgery.

The aim of the new Day Case Unit is to deliver high volume, low complexity patients, which will future proof this service for local patients.

It is estimated to deliver up to 5,760 operations a year, which will free BRI'S theatre capacity by creating an additional 1,200 operation availability per year.


As a Band 6 Theatre Educator at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive theatre education program for students and staff from different department (Theatres, surgical wards, pre assessment).

You will work closely with our team of dedicated educators and professionals, to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that empowers both staff and students to explore, learn, and excel in the world of the NHS.


Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver engaging education packages for learners ranging from beginners to advanced.

Provide constructive feedback and coaching to students to help them grow.

Providing education for > 250 staff in collaboration with both local and national teams.

Assist in the training and retention of new members of staff.

Be able to be approachable and sensitive towards staff and student's needs.

Been able to identify gaps within training and help design and implement a plan to rectify

Spending 25% time clinical and 75% time Nonclinical

Be able to deliver confidently presentations and teachings to students of different levels and different backgrounds (ODP, TNA, Student Nurses)
