A modern and growing accountancy practice with demand in their outsourcing services to clients are seeking an Accounts & Payroll Assistant to support them at their offices close to Chester-le-Street, readily accessible from Washington, Gateshead and Durham.


Joining a friendly and sociable team you will be responsible for processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls on behalf of a portfolio of local businesses.

Payrolls will vary in size from client to client and require differing levels of support, some more complex than others.


The other aspect to your role will be working in the accounts team assisting with the production of monthly management accounts for SME and Owner managed Businesses, using cloud based software such as Xero and Sage.


Applicants do not necessarily need to hold a background from an accountancy firm but they must have experience of multiple payrolls as well as management accounting experience.

The role is customer service facing and will require regular communication with business owners for which you must be comfortable with.

Applicants with AAT or a payroll related qualification would be desirable but experience is more essential.

The role is predominantly office based but there is some flexibility when required. The firm offer a generous bonus scheme to all staff. For those that like to keep busy in a fast paced environment this would be a good fit.
