Career Teachers have an exciting new opportunity for a proactive and engaging Behaviour Mentor to join the pastoral team of a mainstream secondary school based in Sandwell.

This is a full-time role to start as soon as possible, time only.


You will be working under the direction of the inclusion and behaviour manager, providing support to small groups of students and on a one-to-one basis across key stage 3 and 4.

Managing student behaviour and to overcome barriers to learning, inspiring childrenand helping pupils reengage with education.

This is a challenging yet hugely rewarding role.

Requirements:


  • Experience of supporting children and young people on a onetoone and small group basis in either a mentoring or teaching assistant capacity
  • Committed to the development and progress of pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Passionate about helping children and young people achieve their full potential.
  • Able to build confidence and motivation.
  • Approachable, and able to build robust and effective relationships with students.
  • Able to remain calm and resilient when placed in situations of stress or conflict.
  • High levels of empathy, caring, compassionate, and a good listener
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, with a professional approach to work
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Eligibility to work within the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS check on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
  • Have uptodate safeguarding training; Career Teachers offer a FREE online Safeguarding training course
  • Able to provide a minimum of 2 x references to cover the last 2 years of employment history.
