Doctors Direct have a new and exciting opportunity for Consultants to work with us at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust in Rheumatology
We are looking for a dedicated doctor ready to work in a fast-paced environment at a Trust serving more than 300,000 people across North Warwickshire, South West Leicestershire and North Coventry.
This role would be predominantly based at George Eliot Hospital with the opportunity to work extra shifts across the Trusts' other sites and any of our partner Trusts.
George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust opened in 1948 and provides a range of elective, non-elective, surgical, medical, women's, children's, diagnostic and therapeutic services.
Duties:
- Perform comprehensive assessments of stroke patients, including diagnostic evaluation and development of personalized care plans.
- Oversee the stroke unit, ensuring the delivery of evidencebased care and the implementation of best practices in stroke management.
- Evaluate patients for thrombolysis and coordinate interventions such as thrombectomy when indicated, ensuring timely and effective treatment.
- Work closely with neurologists, radiologists, rehabilitation specialists, nurses, and therapists to provide coordinated care to stroke patients.
- Monitor and analyse stroke care outcomes, develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with stroke care protocols.
- Provide education and support to stroke patients and their families, addressing their questions and concerns regarding stroke prevention and recovery.
- Participate in strokerelated clinical research studies, collaborate with research teams, and contribute to the advancement of stroke medicine.
- Mentor medical students, residents, and healthcare professionals, sharing your expertise in stroke medicine

Requirements:
- 36 months NHS experience
- Valid GMC registration
- Right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship)
