- Hire Controller
The Role:
Based in the hire control facility at our head offices in Bilston, the Hire Controller ensures that all business between customers and Dewsbury & Proud is carried out in an efficient and effective manner.
You will operate and maintain spreadsheets, deal with telephone enquiries from the customers booking cranes, obtain detailed information from the customers and organise the general day to day running of the crane business.
This is a precisely detailed role, you will also be responsible for raising contracts in line with the customer agreements.
The role is full time and based in Bilston, Wolverhampton.Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 08:30 am till 17:30 pm
- 30 minute break per day.
- Total = 42.5 hours working week.

Main Responsibilities:
- Sorting and distributing crane hire allocations for the next day.
- Organizing and storing paperwork, documents and computerbased information.
- Use a variety of software packages to produce hire contracts, acknowledgment of orders and documents.
- Liaising with members of staff in other departments and external customers/suppliers
- Screening telephone calls, enquiries and requests.
- Dealing with customer enquiries in a professional manner.
- Responsibility for booking allocations.
- Answering the telephone and dealing with customers, as required
- Attending meetings when required,
- Maintaining knowledge of the group's equipment for hire/sale and activities.
- Following all company procedures and policies in company handbook.
- Supporting and communicating effectively with Crane operators and other departments.
- Customer service experience.
- Organisational and communication skills.
- Team working skills.
- Friendly, polite disposition.
- High level of integrity.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Customer handling and telephone skills.
- Experience in using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Office and Google sheets.
- Be focused, show initiative and have a good attention to detail.
- Ability to juggle tasks and prioritize work.
Desirable Skills:
- Full UK driving licence
- Good knowledge and experience of dealing with customers in a sales environment.
- Understanding of profit and loss and KPI's.
