We are looking to strengthen our team of dedicated and knowledgeable professionals with the addition of an Assistant Garment Technologist.


Perfect for anyone who is looking to start their career in garment technology, this role would suit a new graduate to work closely with our tech and product teams in bringing new designs to market and monitor running production.

Role Brief


Reporting to the Product Manager, the Assistant Garment Technologist will assist in the full sealing of new styles from order placement through to goods in, along with repeat order constancy and quality for all AWDis brands working across multi-category products.

Our new team member will have a sound understanding of apparel manufacturing processes and procedures, will be organised, accurate and have great attention to detail with a willingness to learn.


Responsibilities

  • Creating new style tech packs and measurement specs
  • Managing repeat order tech packs and measurement specs
  • Assisting the sealing process including size set, PP, and top samples for new and repeat orders
  • Assisting in the measuring and fitting approval samples, giving clear instruction on changes to supplier
  • Ensuring consistency is being maintained across supply base on colour, fit, construction and quality
  • Reviewing repeat order dye lots, communicating comments to factories, filing, and maintaining colour standards
  • General admin, filing and managing samples
  • Reviewing factory AQL reports for new and repeat styles
  • Managing and monitoring of fabrication, quality, and weights
  • Assisting in testing of new styles and existing products through 3rd party testing
  • Assisting in the benchmarking key styles and actioning running changes

Requirements:


  • Relevant qualification or experience in garment or fashion technology
  • Strong computer skills including Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft packages
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly organised with exceptional timemanagement and priority setting skills
  • Accuracy is important as is the ability to work to deadlines
  • Flexibility: Collaboratively working with teams in different departments
  • Adaptability: Take on new responsibilities, adjust behaviour to address new needs of the organisations to ensure delivery for clients
  • Quick to develop new skills and a proactive approach
  • Exceptional eye for technical detail
  • Understanding of pattern cutting, construction and manufacturing techniques is desirable.
