Science Teacher - Special Educational Needs

Are you a Qualified Science Teacher with a love for teaching children with Special Educational Needs? Do you want to teach in a setting where you can really make a difference, and inspire a love for all thing Science? This large Special Educational Needs Schoolin South Birmingham, is looking to add a QTS or QTLS Sciecne Teacher to the team.

The school has excellent facilities, including modern laboratories, an experienced leadership team, and a dedicated team of teaching and support staff who are committed to makinga difference.

You will be joining a small and committed science department and will receive outstanding support from the Head of Science.

As a Science Teacher at this specialist school you will be teaching Key Stage 3 & 4 Science up to GCSE.

Good behaviour management skills are essential for this role as you will be working with small classes of children with SEMH and Special Educational Needs.

You will receive excellent support from a team of Teaching Assistants, and will enjoy the freedom to plan and deliver Science lessons to suit the needs of the children in your classes.

As a Science Teacher you will have access to a range of resources and willbe encouraged to deliver practical experiments.

This role requires a Qualified Science Teacher, experience working with special educational needs is desirable.

Job Role:

  • Teaching Sciecne to Key Stages 3 & 4, up to GCSE
  • Planning and delivering practical experiments
  • Delivering booster sessions for students who have struggled in class
  • Making Science fun and engaging for students who have previously been disinterested in science
  • Working with fabulous support staff to ensure that students get the most out of each lessons
