The post is aimed at post MRCS doctors who have completed their Basic Surgical Training & wish to pursue a career in orthopaedics.

The post will offer clinical, research & audit experience.


The post is based on a 10 session per week job plan with a mix of clinical and research sessions.

There will be an on call commitment to providing cover for T&O on the ST1/2 full shift system.

Junior Clinical Research Fellow - Trauma & Orthopaedics
Applications are invited for a Junior Clinical Research Fellow post in Trauma and Orthopaedics to commence in August 2023. One post will primarily support the knee team and one the hip team.

The post is offered on a 1 year fixed-term basis although 6 month fixed term contracts would also be considered.

The post will include clinical and research duties within the Department of Trauma & Orthopaedics at Stepping Hill Hospital.

Applicants must hold full registration with the GMC together with MRCS or equivalent, and have experience in Trauma & Orthopaedics at CT/ST1/2 level.

The post does not have educational recognition. There is an active Postgraduate Centre on the Stepping Hill site with excellent library facilities.

The post is aimed at post MRCS doctors who have completed their Basic Surgical Training & wish to pursue a career in orthopaedics.

The post will offer clinical, research & audit experience. Job plan will include a mix of operating sessions, clinics, ward duties, and research activities


The post is based on a 10 session per week job plan with a mix of clinical and research sessions.

There will be an on call commitment to providing cover for T&O only on the ST1/2 full shift system.

If successful, this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary.

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
