Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment

Policy Fellow (Sustainable Central Banking)

Salary from £49,196 to £56,833 per annum inclusive with the potential to progress to £63,295 inclusive of London allowance
***The Grantham Research Institute is a world-leading centre for the study of the economics and social sciences of climate change and other global environmental problems, based at the London School of Economics and Political Science. We produce both academic research and policy-oriented analysis for a wide audience.


The post-holder will have a Masters degree, or equivalent experience in ecological economics or environmental economics and policy, as well as strong knowledge and experience in the field of sustainable central banking and financial supervision, ideally in the context of the net-zero transition.

The post-holder will have experience of directly engaging with or working within central banks and financial supervisors in the UK or overseas on issues relating to environmental risk, climate change and the net-zero transition.

They will also have experience of working in an international team of researchers and policy analysts, including coordinating the contribution of other project team members, working with senior colleagues, and liaising with funders.

The post holder will also have a strong international network of climate policy contacts in the public, private, and third sectors and demonstrable skills and ability to conduct and manage high-quality research-based policy projects on the role of central banks in the net-zero transition alongside a strong publication track record of policy or research publications on the role of central banks or supervisors in the context of environmental degradation and the net-zero transition.
