Brook Care Home is a small privately owned 20 bed care home that provides care to adults aged 55 and over with Mental Health and Dementia needs.
We are located near Southend Airport. We are currently recruiting for two Senior Care Assistant.Key responsibilities include:
To assist with the day to day running of the home alongside the Registered Manager. The shift times will vary depending on the needs of the home. Dealing with emergency or crisis situations, making informed decisions using your initiative and experience.
To support care staff in assisting our residents in any area of his/her care needs which they would normally undertake themselves if they were able to do so.
Review Care Plans of each resident monthly and re-write when needed and undertake effective handover to promote continuity of care.
Liaise with other health care professionals. Arrange / provide emergency cover.
As part of our team; complete and assist with tasks such as moving and handling, personal hygiene, helping to serve drinks and care of skin/ pressure areas.
Answer call bells and give assistance as required.To be considered for this role you will need to have:
A natural empathy in regard to caring for older people; with a sound understanding of good care principles. NVQ/ SVQ level 3 or working towards.
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
Effective communication ability, both verbally and in writing.

Experience:
- providing care: 1 year (preferred)
- supervisory: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
- NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (required)
