ROLE OVERVIEW
Within this role, you will support the delivery of the statutory financial statements and the annual audit process.
You will also be involved in the day-to-day running of the company accounts, with the responsibility of making observations of the financialstate of the organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare monthend, quarterly and yearend reports
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Preparation for all indirect and direct tax compliance and reporting.
- Monitoring and reporting on accounting inconsistencies
- Produce and disseminate monthly reports on consolidated accruals, prepayments, retentions and debtors for the business.
- Provide external auditors with general ledger information during interim and final audits.
- Supporting monthly accounts and report generation
- Utilising reconciliation management to provide profit and loss insights
- Reconciling balance sheet and weekly cash management
- Maintaining the firm's data integrity and ensuring a high level of accuracy
- Examine and analyse financial information
- Present findings (written and verbal) to senior management and Directors
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Demonstrable knowledge of management accounts
- Very welldeveloped PC skills: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer
- Experience working in a role similar to this previously with a good financial background
- Good all round Communication skills
- Strong attention to details and ability to understand and resolve data errors easily
Knowledge:
- Very welldeveloped PC skills: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Financial reporting and analysis
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organisational, written & verbal reporting, numerical and analytical skills
- Financial management
- Data management
Experience:
- Knowledge of standard accounting systems
- Experience of reporting under UK GAAP (FRS 102)
- Budgeting
- Managing tax payments
- Cost and revenue analysis
- Experience of working in construction would be beneficial
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant with a relevant uptodate membership of a recognised professional body such as ACA, ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA, or CIPFA
- Relevant Degree / Higher, Advanced or Foundation qualification
