Aircraft System/Component Engineer
Aircraft Restoration Co. (ARCo) is a family owned organisation which specialises in the restoration, maintenance and operation of vintage aircraft.

Aircraft Restoration Co. are currently restoring a number of rare and unique vintage aircraft to flying condition.

To keep up with this demand we are expanding our engineering team and are looking for experienced Aircraft Systems Engineers with the proven skills and knowledge to dismantle, overhaul and rebuild a wide variety of components as part of the restoration process along with an understanding of the mechanical sympathy expected when working on vintage aircraft.

Knowledge / experience of working on vintage aircraft, complex piston aircraft, or similar, is essential for this role.

This is a full time role working within the hangars located at our Duxford Airfield facility in South Cambridgeshire, UK.

Required Skills:

Previous experience of overhauling aircraft system components combined with the enthusiasm and willingness to learn the various skills involved in restoring the unique vintage aircraft we operate.
Knowledge and ability to dismantle a variety of aircraft electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components, understand how they work, then overhaul and reassemble them.
Ability to devise sound engineering solutions to situations where limited knowledge/documentation/information is available.
Ability to grow within a team environment and able to communicate well with colleagues.
Good organisational skills and tidy working habits.
Willingness to work hard and adapt to the challenges of engineering in an ever evolving aviation environment.

Your Background:

Ideally you will have a background in aircraft component/systems overhaul, including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and instrumentation.
Experience of machining, e.g. use of lathes or similar would be a great advantage.
Experience of thinking outside the box and devising sound engineering solutions would be beneficial.
