Role Profile


We are looking for someone who is as passionate about music and the arts as they are about growing and developing young people.

Are you vibrant, creative, and committed to supporting young people and nurturing their interests in the world of Music? Is Singing, Karaoke, Vocal training, Musical instruments, beat making and production, radio and podcasts, Djing, your passion, skill set or past time hobby.

You will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and creative programme that will be stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental.

You will be involved in teaching a range of music skills to young people through Youth Work.

The Arts offer here at Future is wide ranging and includes visual arts, music, media, dance, drama and more.

You will be key in ensuring young people and their voices feature in the program with activities designed around their needs, facilitating the successes of Future to young people and the wider community through our Arts offer.

We are looking for a talented Youth Worker to join our team with expertise and experience in creating, delivering and engaging young people though music via one of activities and sessions all the way through to projects, competitions and showcases.


Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and deliver Future's Music offer alongside the arts team and creating a programme for Young People with Young People

Together with the Arts Co ordinator and Core Delivery Team develop and implement a programme that is exciting, challenging and ever-changing

To directly deliver a high-quality programme of activities that are exciting, safe, varied, innovative, developmental and directly responds to the diverse needs, concerns and interests of the members

Assist young people to showcase their talents

Introduce young people to the various forms of getting involved within the music industry

To work flexibly to ensure the needs of the members are met, including disadvantaged children and young people and those with disabilities or additional needs

To ensure the participation of young people in activities and that their ideas contribute fully in the delivery of activities in a safe way


Be an active and supportive member of the team, carrying out any other reasonable duties as requested by the management team, and operating in line with the values and principles of the Youth Zone.

Ability to enthuse others including staff, volunteers, young people

To make the environment fun and the place to be

To encourage attendance and participation in arts activities, particularly by young people who do not usually participate in art

To work directly with children and young people to empower and develop their skills

To have great energy to establish positive relationships with young people and the wider youth work team and visitors to the Youth Zone

To respond to the needs of the young people through the arts

To promote cultural cohesion and inclusion and proactively challenge any prejudice and discrimination

Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management

Be committed to a culture of continuous improvement.

Work within the performance framework of Future Youth Zone and OnSide.


To be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safety of Youth Zone members is promoted and safeguarded, and to report any causes of concerns to the Session Lead or Safeguarding team (training will be provided).

To assist with any promotional activities and visits that take place at the Youth Zone.

To comply with all policies and procedures, with reference to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety, and equality and diversity, to ensure all activities are safe, accessible and inclusiv

Mon - 3.45pm - 9.15pm

Wed - 3.45pm - 8.15pm

Sat - 9.45am - 2.15pm

Sat - 3.45pm pm

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 8-12 per week

£11.95 per hour
