EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW


We have an exciting opportunity within our Distribution Service Delivery Team to become a
Repair and Maintenance Operative based in Newtown covering Powys**Working in this role, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Hafren Dyfrdwy Underground Water network.

You'll be tasked with the upkeep of our Clean Water Network and any required repairs of our Clean Water Main Assets.


You'll put the needs of our customers first, responding to and resolving any issues raised by our customers or members of the public.

Your stake holder management skills will also be used to liaise with other departments and our contract partners.

Plus, as our new
Repair and Maintenance Operative at Hafren Dyfrdwy, not only will you be operating machinery out on site, you'll also be working with data upkeep in the office, a great opportunity to utilise and develop skills all around

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:

  • You'll be Responsible for the delivery of work scheduled in accordance with the Companies service level agreements or customer service standards.
  • You'll be accountable for your own health & safety and have a duty of care to your colleagues & anyone affected by the work you do, for example general public / site personnel. There is a need to exercise judgment / balance in terms of the risk / impact to our customers, the general public, and roadtraffic users, relative to the activity in hand, and to ensure compliance with our statutory, regulatory and company standards at all times.
  • Work safely and operate in compliance with Company's safety policies and Safe Systems of work.
  • Perform the duties of the role in compliance with statutory or regulatory standards, e.g. hygiene, NRSWA (New Roads and Street Work Act) and environmental.
  • You will deliver excellent customer service in accordance with the Companies policies and standards with an aim to deliver the job right first time
- putting the needs of the customer first.

  • Undertake the full range of duties involved in delivering an effective repair and maintenance service, examples of which are the repair and replacement of existing water mains, laying, replacement and repair of services (HD & private), repair and replacement of ancillary assets, valves, washouts, air valves, meters, PRVs, including compliance with all the necessary safety, statutory and regulatory standards. Duties will also include the operation of simple / low risk valves.
  • A full UK driving License is require for this role.
  • Furthermore, as part of this role you will also be part of a rolling 6week standby shift pattern 24/7, 365
