An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team as a Imaging Pathway Navigator within the Clinical Imaging Admin & Clerical Team at the Clinical Imaging Department, Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, providing an efficient Imaging booking service for the Trust in a fast paced environment.


The main duties of the role will be to handle patient enquiries, support Imaging reception areas, contribute to the administrative processes within the service, assign appointments for all Clinical Imaging modalities and ensure that the bookings are within national targets.

Minuting meetings and being responsible for a specific modality while ensuring cover for other modalities during colleague absence.

Communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential.

You will also need to be flexible with a willingness to work rostered evenings and possibly weekends, have an appreciation of the confidential nature of the work and be able to manage a workload to meet pre-determined targets.

This is a full time (37.5 hours) permanent post.

The post holder will be required to undertake a wide range of clerical duties associated with a busy clinical imaging service, in any of the departments within the Clinical Imaging Directorate, but not exceeding the banding of this role.

Working as part of the Clinical Imaging Team, the post holder will co-ordinate referrals and allocation of appointments covering a range of specialities including CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and Interventional Radiology.

The role of the Imaging Pathway Navigator will follow the Trust Access Booking and Choice policy, and ensure that patients are treated in a timely and effective manner and support the delivery of patient's rights to access health services within maximum wait times.

Any other reasonable duties required to ensure delivery of a high quality imaging service.

The work is of a highly confidential nature and all regulations and protocols regarding patient confidentiality must be strictly adhered to, this incorporates using the Radiology Information System (RIS) to enter patient details onto a database.
