Description

We are currently looking for a Technical Lead to work in our busy CPM Department.

This is a full time, permanent position working 5.30am to 6.00pm - 3 days on/3 days off with a salary of £31,500 per annum.
To provide an auditing and support function within the Technical team ensuring compliance with customer and legislative requirements onsite.


Provide support to the Technical Management Team on the development and implementation of Technical Management systems and for ensuring that technical advice and support is available to the wider site team including Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, NPD, Supply Chain, Planning, Hygiene, Environmental, Human Resources and Health & Safety.


To ensure that the Quality Management System of the factory is fully implemented in accordance with legislation, BRC Global Food Safety Standards and customer requirements.

Requirements:


Responsibilities / KPI's:

With respect to Technical metrics ensure support is given to the Technical Management Team as follows:

  • Auditing: Undertake hygiene, GMP, fabrication, foreign body, glass audits and inspections, internal systems audits, summarise findings and identify areas of non-conformance and conformance with customer and legislative requirements. Work with department teams to ensure they have a full and complete understanding and acceptance of areas of audit non-conformance.
  • Claims and

Customer Complaints:

Communicate, track, respond to and trend complaints to identify reoccurring issues and find and recommend permanent solutions within the agreed timeframes.


  • Non-Conformances: Coordinate nonconformance findings including actions taken and report to relevant department managers and suppliers ensuring completion of any required corrective actions from day to day issues. Review trending of nonconformances to identify reoccurring issues and find and recommend permanent solutions.
  • CCPS, Operational Pre-Requisite Points Verification, Product and

Process Inspections:
Ensure that all checks are completed at the required time intervals and to the required standard. Verify all label information to ensure compliance with both customer and legal requirements.

  • Product Quality, Testing and Assessments: Ensure that all raw materials and finished products fully comply with specifications and quality documentation and recommend improvement opportunities. Collect, manage and submit products and materials for testing, track, trend and record findings. Shelflife assessments and reporting.
  • Documents: Audit all factory documentation and recommend changes for improvements. Assist in the management of the document control system and issue approved documentation as required.

Product System Management:
Manage verification of product and raw material specifications. Ensure product information systems and data held within is updated, maintained and verified at all times. Issue and communicate price change, barcode updates and manage information on labels.

  • Audit Ready: Assist in delivery of site standards, ensure all areas are audit ready at all times. Accompany on visits and audits.
  • Legislation, Customer Standards,

Accreditation Standards:
Assist the Technical Management Team in understanding, delivering and maintaining the required standards within the business unit.

  • Traceability and

Mass Balance:
Challenge factory systems to ensure that full traceability is achieved for every batch of product. Complete routine and requested assessments against customer and legislative requirements.

  • Label Claim Verification: Challenge systems to ensure that all declared product claims and label information are set up properly and verified prior production.
  • HACCP and

Quality Systems:

Be a member of the HACCP team and assist in the delivery of the HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems.


  • SOPs: Develop and review Technical related procedures, toolbox talks and recommend changes for improvement
  • Training: provide training on Technical related procedures as required.
  • Operations Support: Support the Operations team on daytoday activities, coach and trouble shoot activities for improvement
  • NPD: Attendance, actions, review and improvement opportunities from RACI, EPD, Specification Review and Management, Pre-Production, First Production, Technical acceptance tests.
Work with NPD team and customers on new product introductions.

  • Troubleshoot and assist: Troubleshoot any Technical issues and assist all teams in delivery of the required standards.
  • Escalation of any product quality issues or Technical compliance issues to the Technical Management Team with solutions.
