Payroll Assistant | Full Time | Contract | Salary £24,000 - £30,000


Macildowie are excited to be working with a leading company based in Barwell, Hinckley, who are looking for a Payroll Assistant to join their team to cover maternity leave.


They are looking for someone to start immediately or in a short notice for a 12 month contract, with the possibility to being extended.

The payroll administrator will be responsible for creating and maintaining employee payroll records. You will administer payroll changes and the monthly payroll submissions, supported by the Senior Payroll Co-ordinator. This role would need to be 5 daysper week Monday to Friday in the office.


Responsibilities:


  • Processing new starters and leavers.
  • Working as part of the payroll team in running the monthly payroll processing and generating any reports that may be required.
  • Calculate and input all overtime, Commissions, bonus and any other add hock Payments.
  • Calculate all absences ensuring accurate payments and deductions are made.
  • Become adept in all aspects of HFX time and attendance system including the importing of time into the payroll system.
  • PAYE/ National Insurance/ Pension administration.
  • Using excel spreadsheets to simplify reporting
  • Speaking to employees in person and on the phone, dealing with queries.
  • Reconciling and paying third party Payments.
  • HMRC Tax code administration.
  • To assist in the gross to net payroll calculation check for all employees.
  • Run and occasionally oversee a complex monthly payroll for a growing payroll of over 800 staff.
  • To adapt and embrace any new systems that come in and learn new ways of working.
Any ad hoc administration duties required by the payroll department.


You will need:

  • Experience working within payroll
  • Experience using Itrent or Access is desirable but not essential
  • To be thorough and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to demonstrate Administration skills.
  • The ability to work within a small team and on your own
  • Maths knowledge.
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • To be able to use a computer and Microsoft packages competently
Experience is not necessary as full training will be provided, however is desirable.

Full time/part time including school hours are considered, as well as an apprenticeship route.
