Birmingham Children's Hospital is part of Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust and is the UK's leading specialist Paediatric centre, caring for sick children and young people between 0 and 16 years of age.

The specialist centre has been rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission and is the first children's hospital of its type in the country to receive such an accolade.


We are one of the largest Principal Treatment Centres for Paediatric Cancer in the country and provide care for children with Cancer across a huge geographical area spanning the Midlands and further afield.

We are also one of two national centres for treating Retinoblastoma and we also have one of the largest Paediatric Stem Cell Transplant Units in the country.


As the ward sister/manager of ward 18 the paediatric haematology/oncology ward you will be leading one of the services in-patient wards.


The Haematology and Oncology Services are housed within our bespoke state of the art building Waterfall House building and our services are delivered over two floors.

Our Outpatient areas spans across a whole floor offering ambulatory care for children with cancer and non-malignant haematology disorders. Our inpatient floor consists of two wards with a total of 31 beds.

Ward 19 is our designated Stem Cell Transplant ward and Ward 18 is our inpatient ward, caring for and treating patients aged 0-16 years with cancer and non-malignant haematology disorders.
