The Team & Focus of the Role


As part of our expansion plans for our Business Rates team we are looking to appoint either a newly qualified Surveyor or Senior Surveyor reporting to our London based team.

In terms of location we are relatively flexible however, and have regional officesthroughout the country that could be used.


You would be joining an ambitious but friendly & dedicated team who are committed to the best in service for their clients and wider colleagues throughout the business.

Prior Business Rates experience would certainly be of assistance for this role, but astrong work ethic, a passion for client care and drive to assist in the overall strategy for the department are also qualities that we're searching for.

Whether you're from a commercial background, valuations, rural or infrastructure, we're here to answeryour questions about a potential switch into this unique area of surveying.


This is a permanent full-time position on a 37.5-hour contract (Monday - Friday, 9am - 5.30pm) however we are open to discussing flexible working and this role is part of our hybrid working policy.

In terms of working location, as noted it is envisaged thatyou can have a regional office as your primary office, however travel once a week to either London (or possibly Liverpool) will be beneficial for wider team collaboration.


Duties will include:


  • Obtaining instructs from clients & issuing contracts
  • Completing inspections for a wide range of commercial properties including office and industrial buildings, along with non bulk classes such as water works, schools and colleges etc
  • Providing indepth evidencebased analysis and Valuation Reports
  • Working with the wider business to increase portfolio depth across the business
  • Engaging with the Government CCA system to obtain Rating reductions for client companies
  • Building positive & proactive relationships with existing and new clients
  • Prior experience within business rates (desirable, not required)
  • Chartered or Assoc RICS qualified (desirable)
  • An interest in the sector & willingness to learn
  • Experience working within the property sector
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Clear and professional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational, planning, and problemsolving skills
  • A results driven approach
  • A full driving licence
