Protocol are delighted to be working with a growing Independent Training Provider in the recruitment of a Health and Social Care Skills Coach in the West Midlands.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a caseload of brand new learners in the area

Job Title:

Hours of work:37.5 hours per week


Salary Range:
£27000- £32,000 per annum


Job Purpose


To nurture and support the growth of level 2, 3 and 5 Health and Social Care Apprentices as they establish essential knowledge, skills and behaviours, helping maximise the potential of learner across every stage of their journey.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Undertaking high quality teaching sessions, both facetoface and online.
  • Regularly assessing work and providing constructive feedback
  • Supporting, and advising, learners with portfolio building
  • Providing feedback to learners and employers in line with regulatory and organisational requirements to ensure successful achievement.
  • Being an inspirational mentor, understanding learners' goals and ambitions, assessing their strengths, and teaching them to use them effectively.
  • Supporting learners to through to End Point Assessment, meeting retention and completion targets
  • Effective management of the eportfolio system
  • Taking responsibility to ensure safeguarding, PREVENT, British Values, Health, Safety and Wellbeing and equality, diversity and inclusion are promoted and monitored continually with all learners
  • Providing meaningful feedback to senior managers on learner progression and End Point Assessment readiness
  • Having knowledge of and commitment to the Quality Improvement Plan and ongoing standardisation activities relating to OFSTED compliance and governance
  • Ensuring learners' learning programmes/journeys align with the context of their employment, cultural, diversity and inclusion challenges as well as their learning needs and styles.
  • Utilising learner feedback, progression and performance data to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Receiving and acting on feedback from internal and external Quality Assurers.
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with the End Point Assessment Organisations and other external bodies as required so as to contribute to the improvement of programmes and working practices.

  • Experienced and suitably qualified in teaching and/or training and assessment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • English/Maths GCSE or equivalent Key Skills/Functional Skills
  • Understanding of health and safety/equal opportunities requirements
  • Understanding of safeguarding and the impact on role
  • Professional coaching qualification or accreditation
Experience

  • Experience of learning delivery in a workbased environment
  • Occupational experience in the care sector
  • Experience of working with learner management systems
  • Experience of training in a classroom environment
  • Experience of planning and developing training programmes
