Description

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic band 5 Paediatric Speech and Language therapist to join our busy team in Derby City.

You will be part of a Locality team and provide a clinical service to children and young people with communication/eating/drinking /swallowing difficulties in a variety of settings, including education settings, nurseries, clinics and clients' homes.

You will have your own varied caseload and lots of support from all the team to help you settle in and really enjoy your role.

We mainly work in local settings using a collaborative approach to support families and keyworkers to understand their children's needs and how best to support them.

This involves direct work as well as delivering programmes and implementing environmental strategies.

We are a strong, kind and caring team and there will be excellent support provided to help you make the best start in the early stages of your speech and language career or for a more experienced Band 5 a great team to continue developing in.

Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.

We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.
