This is a great opportunity to join a friendly Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (ADRS) who are looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to work in an integrated health and social care addiction setting.

The post involves providing input to a community service for individuals with alcohol and drug problems. It offers significant opportunities to develop the role.

You will play a key role in the provision of a high quality, evidence based clinical psychology service, working individually, and in groups, with clients who present with alcohol and drug problems and co-morbid mental health conditions.

You will also provide advice, training and consultation to other staff to support the delivery of psychosocial interventions and psychological therapies in the context of a matched stepped care model of delivery.

You will have a key role in supporting staff to deliver psychologically and trauma informed care and treatments.

The postholder will also be a member of our welcoming NHS Greater and Glasgow ADRS psychology team and, therefore, be part of a well-established psychological therapies service who co-ordinate the addictions teaching component of the Glasgow University Doctorate Course in Clinical Psychology.

As such, you will be expected to contribute to the development of the wider NHS GG&C ADRS psychology service and participate in research and audit, in line with service priorities.

You will be encouraged to develop a specialist clinical interest and continued professional development is strongly supported.

You must be registered with the HCPC. This post requires PVG scheme membership
