London Office | Hybrid Working | Full-Time Role

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Quantitative Researcher to join our London office - a fast-growing start-up environment within international commodity trading.

This exciting opportunity will allow you to work closely with our Front Office traders, leveraging your machine learning, statistics, and programming expertise to tackle challenging and innovative projects.

You will have the chance to work on ever-evolving priorities, gaining exposure to complex modelling and real-life trading models.

This will be a full-time permanent role, owning the following responsibilities:

Collaborate with traders and fundamental analysts to gather, analyse, and interpret data.
Implement and back test new trading strategies.

About You

We are looking for a self-driven, data-driven individual with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

In addition, we are looking for somebody with the following:

Essential Requirements:

Strong programming skills in Python and experience with libraries such as TensorFlow, pandas, and scikitlearn.
Experience with methods of statistical data analysis (e.g., linear models, hypothesis testing, Bayesian methods, etc.)
A Master's degree in in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, operations research, or a related technical field involving experimental design and quantitative analysis of experimental data. A PhD is preferable.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of causal inference methods.
Experience analysing financial time series to identify trading opportunities.

Ability to thrive in fastpaced, collaborative environments and drive projects to successful completion within tight timelines.
Analytical and highly numerate, with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated proficiency in conducting highquality research and effectively communicating findings to stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organisation.
