Description
We're looking for a business development executive with a demonstrable track record of finding and qualifying new business opportunities.


You might not currently be working in our digital market, however, you will have developed sales skills gained through direct selling to mid-market and enterprise level clients in a complex sales environment such as technology, software or consulting.

You'll have some successful years of experience behind you in business development and will have worked directly on a range of sales activities where you've generated new business opportunities from your own initial research, outreach and nurturing.


You can be based from our office in the beautiful city of Lichfield, or work remotely and come into the office at least twice a month to meet with the entire team and wider business, so maybe within two hours' drive time or near a train line that comes toLichfield City/Trent Valley would work too.

About the role


As a member of the sales team, you will target strategic/mid-market and corporate level prospects, identifying and quantifying their business problems and pain related to our core offering.

You will then hand over to our team to further develop, exploreand close the opportunity.


You will:

  • Build relationships and network with prospects to generate new business
  • Identify challenges that our potential customers face and discover the best solutions for their business
  • Execute a valuebased sales process focussing on identifying client business pain, the development of need, and the subsequent qualification and formulation of value justified business cases
  • Analyse and proactively target the influencers within a prospect's business, navigating the internal hierarchy to influence the powerbase in order to maximise the opportunity
  • Work closely with the inhouse leadership, marketing and solutions teams in the identification of the correct prospects, through careful segmentation combined with considered outreach campaigns
  • Work on targeted campaigns, collaborating with the marketing function, into both midmarket and corporate clients for large, multiyear opportunities that deliver on the growth aspirations of the business
  • Qualify, manage and progress leads from both outbound and inbound sources
  • Active engagement and participation in events as well as active productive client and industry networking
  • Track all relevant sales activity using the company's CRM HubSpot
  • Achieve weekly and monthly KPIs as defined by the business
  • Work proactively with senior management to develop the business development function within the business planning 12, 18 and 24 months ahead

About you

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience successfully selling into midmarket and large corporate level organisations.
  • Demonstrable evidence of track record of sales success in a tech or marketing related industry sector
  • Understanding and ability to evidence the use of data and insight as a lever and differentiator in sales opportunities
  • Track record of building relationships and influencing senior lineofbusiness personnel
  • Proven 'hunter' (new business) prospecting and selling skills, utilising an industry accepted sales methodology
  • Experience in working with technologyled solutions and a desire to deeply understand and demonstrate CTM's skills and functionality, use cases, as well as business and technical elements to address clients business need
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Experience working in a fastpaced, high growth company where change is a constant
  • Highly driven individual with an exemplary work ethic
  • Able to function independently, as well as collaboratively with wider team members
  • Passionate about developing and delivering exceptional outcomes and results for clients

If you've got these it'd be fabulous, but it's not essential

  • You are familiar with CRM, or similar (e.g. Hubspot, Salesforce, SugarCRM, Pipedrive, etc)
  • You have worked at a digital agency or at least understand the basics of digital and inbound marketing
  • You are proficient user of key office software solutions e.g. Microsoft Suite, including Excel or Google Sheets, PowerPoint or Google Slides

Salary range
We offer competitive salary and commissions for this role of £30,000 - £40,000 (with an OTC of 25k, we will celebrate overachievement and hence commissions are not capped and can accelerate for achievement over 100% of target)
