As a Revenues Officer_ _you'll thrive on administrative duties and to assist with the day-to-day supervision of a team of officers dealing with the daily processing and reconciliation of payments and bank statement transactions, being specifically responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Authority's main General Fund bank account.

About the role
Every day is different within Exchequer, so work is varied to keep it interesting.

Though there will be daily / weekly / monthly tasks which need completing to, other work involving queries and day to day management of a busy team will keep work fresh and interesting.

Your role within Exchequer is a critical service to the functioning of the council to ensure payments and income is received and allocated.

As our next Revenues Officer, you'll promote the opportunity to raise the bar on service level agreements, reducing the length of time it takes to process and respond to queries, acting as a role model and supporting officers achieve this with a keen attention to detail to reduce errors.


The role is integral to our Exchequer team to work towards the achievement of service and corporate objectives and targets.

Job purpose


To undertake administrative duties and to assist with the day-to-day supervision of a team of officers dealing with the daily processing and reconciliation of payments and bank statement transactions, being specifically responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Authority's main General Fund bank account.


Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the daytoday supervision of a team of staff dealing with the daily processing and reconciliation of incoming payments and other bank statement transactions.
  • Dealing with the daytoday management of the Authority's main General Fund bank account.
  • Undertaking administrative duties in relation to all aspects of processing incoming payments.
  • Liaising with different services across the Council and representatives from external organisations, including the Council's bankers and the Cash in Transit contractor to identify and allocate entries on the bank account and resolve queries.
  • Undertaking systems and financial reconciliations to ensure the integrity of the authority's financial systems and accounts.
  • Assisting with the maintenance and development of documented procedures in relation to income management and bank reconciliation processes.
