Description
Reporting to the Area manger, you will lead a team of Operatives on a day to day basis and manage the manufacturing process of converting raw materials into finished goods, while strictly adhering to all health and safety requirements.
The role will ensure products meet quality specifications, machinery is maintained to a high standard and operates with a high degree of efficiency, waste is minimised and cost is kept down to a minimum, daily fryer duties are completed and procedures followed.
-MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES_
Quality
- Responsible for maintaining the highest work area quality assurance procedures.
- Maintaining strict food hygiene and health and safety standards in the department
- Ensure that the base product is in line with Customer specifications and those allinternal processes and checks are in place and adhered to.
- Ensure adherence to relevant health and safety/food safety legislation.
Critical Tasks
- Ensure product traceability is complete
- Ensure tooling is clean and fit for purpose
Measures
- 100% traceability in department as measured by QA
Measures
- Weekly waste report
- Labour Absenteeism
Delivery
- Ensure that your lines performs to maximum efficiency and that production is in line with agreed plan
In particular:
- Plan and assign work to subordinate staff
- Ensure that cell handovers are done thoroughly
- Liase with other department to ensure materials availability
- All paperwork is filled in to company standards
Critical tasks
- Forward plan to ensure success of subsequent shift
- Communicate delivery performance to the team
People
- Resource, develop and lead a team of fryer operatives and inspection staff
- Ensure that effective communication takes place between teams and Operatives within Production and other areas
- Ensure that people are adequately trained in the right skills and knowledge for the effective performance of their duties and to meet statutory requirements
- Ensure that the working environment is properly maintained in terms of health and safety of employees and integrity of the product
- Ensure that proper conduct is maintained reporting issues to Area Manager

- Maintain adherence to Safe Systems of Work.
4.Knowledge, skills and experience required
Knowledge
- Good knowledge of the manufacturing process
- Good understanding of quality systems and procedures
- Understanding of internal procedures
- Clean As You Go
- Basic Health and Safety/Food legislation knowledge
- Awareness of customer and product base.
Skills
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of Fryer operatives
- Problem solving an analytical skills
Experience
- 3 years experience in a Food Manufacturing environment
5. Dimensions
- Filling in all line product/food safety and line efficiencies paperwork
- Actively contribute to effective shift handovers
Safety:
- Maintain and improve people safety within the working environment by investigating to conclusion all accidents and near misses
- To raise near misses to improve people safety
- Ensure compliance across all areas of responsibility in line with group, category and legislative requirements
- Work with colleagues to identify and eliminate Health & Safety risks to all staff
- Lead by example
- Ensure personal behaviours demonstrate zero tolerance to all Health & Safety Issues within area of responsibility
Pay:
£26,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- London, NW10 7ST: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Food Manufacturing: 1 year (required)
