Day to Day responsibilities include:

  • Efficiently managing the CNC production resources in keeping with the manufacturing facility requirements, ensuring the care and development of production employees
  • Delivering manufacturing goals and objectives
  • Control of manufacturing resources to achieve maximum productivity and material utilization within the requirements of the production schedule
  • Management of manufacturing department employees to optimize their contribution to the overall manufacturing unit with particular emphasis on efficient individual and team working through adequate communication and training
  • Ensure strict compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures with particular reference to health, safety and quality
  • Ensure that the means of production are available e.g., by timely request of raw materials, equipment, consumable and services from relevant departments
  • Communicate effectively with relevant internal departments e.g., HSE, Quality, Engineering, etc to ensure that production is not unduly delayed
  • Ensure the proper operation of Permali disciplinary procedure for the employees under the manager's control
  • Ensure that the housekeeping in the areas under the managers controls is maintained to the highest standard
  • Participate in developing Permali activities e.g. Working practices, equipment specifications, improvements in productivity and quality
  • Providing direction as well as training to employees to accomplish company goals and objectives
  • Conducting employee performance reviews and managing employee performance
  • Production of defect free product that meets with customer specifications
  • Ensuring that the plant is adequately resourced to expedite forecast workloads in a timely fashion within the confines of agreed annual budgets
  • Leading change and integrating best practice
  • Fulfilling all relevant Operations duties and driving continuous improvement in collaboration with the Process Improvement Manager
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties that may be requested from time to time

Education & Training:

  • Must have previous experience in a similar Manufacturing role
  • Proven track record within a fast pace, demanding manufacturing environment

  • Able to work as a member of a team, but also capable of working alone to tight deadlines
  • Good organisational and time management skills, and able to maintain high standards
  • Building strong internal and external customer relationships
  • Leading change initiatives and projects with a view to continual improvement
  • Building and developing winning teams
  • High standard of written English and good communication skills, and strong presentation and reportwriting skills
