Salary:
from £39,977 per annum


Contract Length/Hours: 12-month fixed term/Full time (37 hours per week)

Enhanced Annual Leave: 24 days per annum (plus bank holidays & Christmas shutdown)

Annualised Hours:
Working extra hours means taking extra leave


The Finance Team at South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils are expanding the team and has an exciting opportunity for 2 Finance Business Partners, both on 12-month fixed term contracts.

This is a varied role where you will be:


  • Assisting the Strategic Finance Managers and Principal Accountants in delivering the councils financial and management accounting functions. Across both councils, areas that the finance business partners between them support include business partnering support to council services, including project support to transformation activity and other significant council projects, and final accounts.
  • Supporting the development of improved financial management across the councils, including monitoring and forecasting of key income streams, and development of the councils' general ledger (Unit4).
  • Building and maintaining technical knowledge in accordance with professional standards and guidelines.
  • Training non-financial employees in financial procedures as required.


The duties may vary from time to time without changing the nature of the post or the level of responsibility and the post holder may also be required to carry out any other duties appropriate to the grading of the post.


Your essential skills, knowledge and experience:
Education to A Level or equivalent
AAT Qualified (Grade 7) or working toward the later stages of the qualification (Grade 6)
