Job Purpose
To professionally and efficiently, source, screen, and hire permanent qualified HGV drivers in line with business needs. In addition to the co-ordination of temporary agency driver suppliers.

Extensive travel will be required to fulfil the role.


Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute creative recruitment interventions to attract highquality drivers, and on occasion, warehouse and washbay colleagues.
  • Conduct legal right to work checks and background screenings for all potential hires.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and preferred skillsets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Training team and support the successful transition from offer to induction.
  • KPI driven on driver retention.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and changes to ensure the company delivers a dynamic and successful LGV Driver recruitment solution.
  • Complete 3 month review of all new drivers, did we meet expectations or not etc.
  • Attend career fairs and other events to promote the company and its driver opportunities.
  • Write and place job adverts in various online and print publications.
  • Prepare regular reports on recruiting metrics and progress.
  • Manage agencies full SLA agreements and preferred suppliers by area.

Skills & Knowledge

  • 25 years' experience in recruiting, preferably within the logistics industry but will consider other similar industry experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team to meet strict deadlines.
  • Evidence of working within an inhouse transport operation, sourcing permanent drivers.

Qualifications
Educated to A level or equivalent.

Excellent IT skills - MS Office.

Driving licence - will be required to travel

Salary £35,000 per annum plus Car allowance
