Children's Residential Support Worker / Dewsbury


Do you want to work in a meaningful role with an opportunity for career progression and personal development? I have an amazing opportunity for a DEDICATED and PASSIONATE Children's Residential Support Worker to join a Children's Residential service in Dewsbury.

You will be Supporting young people between the ages of 6-16 with Learning/Physical disabilities, complex health needs and autism.


Overview:

  • Title: Children's Residential Support Worker
  • Salary: £ depending on qualifications) PLUS plenty of overtime
available

  • Location: Dewsbury
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: Full Time
  • Sleep Ins Required

The role:
What you will be doing as a Children's Residential Support Worker:

  • To ensure that the children are safe and protect them from risks to their health and
welfare

  • All aspects of care including personal care
  • To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
  • Keeping on top of household chores such as cleaning & doing laundry
  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their
independence and well-being.

  • Maintaining uptodate knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward
system and preferred method of communication.

  • Supporting poor behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social
Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives

such as Psychologists.

What you will need to be a successful Children's Residential Support Worker:

  • You MUST be willing to carry out personal care duties
  • Ideally be a driver as you will be required to transport the young people from time
to time

  • You MUST be an empathetic and relatable person, have good listening and
communication skills, and a natural instinct to help others

  • You MUST be able to commute to Dewsbury
