WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
− Is an inspirational leader, with a successful track record of building and coaching high performing, well engaged, multi skilled teams, operating within a high volume and fast paced environment. Gained through experience within similar sized venues, or through the coordination of multiple sites, the right person will have a clear and complete understanding of the complex demands and operational challenges faced by a large venue, and will therefore quickly gel into the existing operation.

− Thinks strategically in order to plan and coordinate multiple interdepartmental projects, seamlessly bringing teams together at the right time, whilst simultaneously reacting to environmental changes or client demands. In times of pressure, the Deputy Head of Operations will offer the calm and guidance needed for each department to successfully deliver under tight deadlines and high expectations.

− Can meaningfully engage with employees and stakeholders at all levels; whether direct reports, peers, fans, keys suppliers or local charities, with the ability to speak coherently and articulate their thoughts and opinions to instil confidence and reassurance with every interaction.


Has an analytical mindset and the commercial awareness, and is able to utilise these skills to identify opportunities for improvement as well as creative solutions to the varying challenges faced by the each department.




Is solution orientated, who can think creatively when problem solving with the skill and confidence to balance the needs of all stakeholders when faced with conflicting demands in ambiguous circumstances.


A FLAVOUR OF THE DAY TO DAY


Reporting to our Head of Operations, the Deputy Head of Operations will be the conduit between the Operational Teams and the business leadership.

Working shoulder to shoulder with the Heads of Department, the Deputy Head of Operations will.

− Spearhead the planning and execution of a catering operation that delivers a premium stadium wide guest experience, whilst ensuring operational quality and excellence is maintained across all matchday and non-matchday events;

  • Compile and submit status reports to clients, management, and other stakeholders highlighting any event risks, offering recommendations to mitigate.
  • Close out each event by evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learnings for the upcoming season. Identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement. Devise and implement action plans to enable improved time, resource, and process management.
  • Monitor team performance to ensure timely delivery, highlighting training and development needs to ensure there continues to be robust succession plan across the organisation.
− Work collaboratively with clients on joint projects from conception to completion, working effectively with relevant stakeholders for efficient project implementation, working strategically to ensure the business objectives are achieved;

  • Produce detailed project plans and monitor project performance to ensure timely delivery.
  • Compile and submit project status reports to clients, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Utilise appropriate leadership and communication to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders.
  • Implement any necessary changes throughout the process, ensuring all stakeholders are timely informed.
  • Close out projects by formally evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learnings for the future projects.
− Manage multiple third-party relationships and partnerships, as well as working hand in hand with the client and product teams at Manchester City Football Club.

− Implement robust procedures and controls that increase commercial performance and drive efficiency.

− Work with the Head of Commercial Accounts to maintain strong control over each department's expenditure, ensuring all costs are accurately forecasted and recorded within the business' weekly returns sheet.

− Line management of an experienced and high-performing senior team, conducting performance reviews when necessary and working with the Head of Training & Development to ensure learning needs are continually met.

− Conduct benchmarking and research activities to propose innovative ideas to enhance our products and services and, once approved, take full ownership of the implementation and launch.


Liaise with the Head of Safety & Compliance to regularly assess that team members are educated in, and fully understand, the safe working practices in line with all health, safety and food safety legislation.
