Michelle Denny Recruitment is working alongside an established business in Diss, South Norfolk, who are looking for a Claims Adjuster to join their specialist MGA organisation where their niche is firmly embedded within the UK motor market.

Salary is upto £28,000pa plus benefits and is open to people who wish to be based in the office and/or partly from home.

In a perfect world, you'll come with experience within Third Party claims, from either an insurer or brokerage, with commercial, fleet, or AD claims and be at ease handling your own portfolio within appropriate authority limits but the most important elementis you, your character and your drive to be part of a professional and friendly team.

You'll need to be / have / be able:

  • Comfortable validating, investigating and negotiating customers TP claims up to £50,000
  • Experience within Motor insurance
  • To handle and negotiate detailed liability scenarios, managing your own caseload of litigated claims
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues, acting as a technical referral point across the team
  • To explain decisions on liability, negotiating settlement within your authority levels
  • To set clear expectations and next steps to the client
  • Able to regularly review claims to ensure accurate reserves and timely closure
  • Credit Hire experience would be advantageous, although not essential
  • The ability to work to monthly targets, both for your team and at an individual level
  • To work closely with the Liability, Technical Claims Managers and Director to ensure a seamless service delivery
  • Commercially astute, and able to assess claims based on economics and with the best interests of the business in mind
  • Able to evaluate quantum by gathering relevant evidence, adjusting reserves in accordance with company reserving process
  • Strong negotiation skills and able to challenge where appropriate
  • Comfortable making quick and accurate decisions on liability, quantum and indemnity
  • The ability to spot and deal with potentially spurious claims
  • A good understanding of industry procedures, products and services
  • The ability to liaise with blue chip organisations
