This school is looking for a Support Assistant to work in a school driven by wanting to support people in every way possible.

Experience isn't everything, but personality is. As long as you are willing to learn and have a positive attitude, then this role is for you As a Support Assistant, you can be expected to be surrounded by a team of professionals who are so welcoming and want to help people in their career development; supporting children of all ages, assisting the Class Teacher, and assisting other staff members will be included in the job

This school specialises in supporting children aged 3-19 with Speech and Language Communication Needs. This school is known for having a unique atmosphere created by its dedicated, highly professional, and caring staff members.

It is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, students and volunteers to share this commitment.

The Curriculum is adapted into separate provisions for children with complex Social Communication Needs. Focusing on pre-linguistic, early linguistic and attention skills. Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) is integrated into the classroom, focusing on communication first, then academic learning.

They always consider and aim to support the child's level of arousal and sensory needs, anxieties and other emotional needs.


Requirements for the ideal Support Assistant -

  • Anyone who has personal interests in supporting children and young people who learning disabilities
  • This is an ideal role for anyone who is passionate about SEN and wants to kickstart their career
  • Must be a positive, proactive, and patient individual who has a cando attitude and is willing to learn new things daily
  • The ideal Support Assistant must be a team player and has great communication skills.
  • Must be able to build good working relationships with both students and staff
