Do you have an understanding of wider issues affecting substance misusers e.g. homelessness, Mental Health issues?**Framework Housing Association is the lead provider of drug and alcohol treatment within the City of Nottingham and is offering an exciting opportunity to join a team of staff in this Care Quality commission rated GOOD care setting.


Framework is looking to appoint a Support Worker at Edwin House to provide high standards of care and support and work proactively with service users to enable them to gain some control over their substance use, improve their quality of life and build recovery capital.

Edwin House is a 49-bed facility based in Radford which provide residential accommodation.

The vacancy is in the residential area of this facility and the role involves supporting people who present with a range of complex support and health conditions resultant from historic or current problematic substance misuse.


  • You must be flexible and able to work on a 24hour rota. Will include night shifts.
  • Full time shifts roles only 37 hours per week.
  • Shifts are 7am to 3pm/1pm to 9pm/8.45pm to 7.15am.
  • If not already, you will be trained to deliver medication.
  • Full training given.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide face to face & one to one, informal support, dealing with a wide range of individual needs.
  • Assist Service Users with personal care and to complete daily living tasks as set out in their care and support plans which promote health and wellbeing.
  • Administer medication through an online system
  • Training will be given.
  • Contribute to the Review of individual care and support plans, and risk and needs assessments for service users.
  • Respect the rights and responsibilities of Service Users.
  • Advise Service Users to make informed decisions and choices.
  • To build skills and confidence of Service Users.
  • To work alongside Senior Care Workers/ nurses and managers to ensure tasks and objectives identified in care support plans are achieved within agreed time scales.
  • To work with the occupational therapist to implement and review structured programmes and meaningful actives.
  • Empower Service Users to maintain health and wellbeing.
  • To assist with move on accommodation.
  • Identify your own development needs and actively seek opportunities to expand your knowledge, skills, and experience to meet the developing needs of the service.
