Support Workers/Carer

£ £17.50 Per hour

Full Time/ Part Time & Bank staff to cover emergency and Annual Leave/Sickness cover.

Typical shifts:

-
Day shifts (08:00 to 20:00):


  • Waking Night shifts -19:00 to 07:00

Bognor Regis
We are currently looking for people to join our team of Support Workers based in our client's home.

CHD Care at Home is part of CHD Living's award-winning group of care services.

We created our domiciliary care offering to help give some peace of mind to our clients living at home and their families.

Our care team is dedicated to providing tailored services to those who need it most.

In 2019 our client was involved in a road traffic accident where his motorbike was hit by a van. This has left him with a spinal injury. He lives at home, in a bungalow with his wife and two dogs.

We are looking for someone with a cheerful, caring and positive attitude with a good sense of humour. You will need to be comfortable working in the client's home & alongside his wife. You will always be working alongside another Support Worker. You will be flexible and reliable.


Essential Requirements:


  • Physically fit
  • Even with specialist equipment in place and appropriate training, it is important that you are physically fit.
  • Experience/understanding of mental health issues & basic understanding of the principles of rehabilitation is desired but we will provide full training.
  • A proactive approach to developing an appropriate range of activities
  • Full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed) and able to drive the client's adapted vehicle.
  • Nonsmoker.
  • Willing to travel on holidays

Purpose of the role:


  • To support our client in maximising his independence in all activities of daily living
  • To enable and promote our client in pursuing social outings
  • To provide companionship
  • To assist with any personal care required
  • To implement strategies/follow therapy programmes devised by the treating therapists to assist our client to develop their independence.
  • To promote selfesteem and confidence.
  • To assist with domestic chores around the home ie tidying around the home, laundry, cleaning of equipment
  • To advocate for our client's wellbeing when it is appropriate to do so.


You don't need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications - we're happy to work with you to help you become an excellent Complex Needs Support Worker.
