The job holder is responsible for providing operational support on a portfolio of clients in relation to their group risk policies.

The job holder will work within the Employee Benefits & Wellbeing Group Risk Operations team, providing support to our clientsand Group Risk Consultant team.

What will you be doing?

Scheme Administration:

  • Builds a robust system for ensuring appropriate management of scheme administration tasks including proactive follow up with clients and insurers, keeping your consultant appraised at all times.
  • Ensures that all group risk scheme renewal requests for membership data and insurer premium are issued to clients in a timely and accurate manner that is in line with team procedures.
  • Accurately analyses scheme membership data to ensure that membership is correct, includes all eligible employees and is at the correct level of benefit.
  • Identifies and proactively manages medical underwriting requirements to conclusion, keeping all stakeholders fully informed at all stages.
  • Checks insurer scheme accounts for accuracy before issuing to clients on time.
  • Proactively manages Group Life Assurance or Critical Illness claims, quickly dealing with related queries ensuring that claims are paid at the earliest possible opportunity.
  • Becomes an income protection claims expert with an indepth knowledge of your clients' claims and their insurers' propositions. You proactively manage your claims portfolio keeping all stakeholders fully informed on claim cases. This includes supporting onnew claims, claim escalations, claim reviews, ceasing claims and any other claim related activities.
  • Where we provide absence management services, you proactively manage and deliver this service to the highest standard and on time.
  • Operates collaboratively with our Online benefits and Empower Data teams to ensure data reporting is accurate and all systems are fully up to date.
  • Once fully conversant with all scheme administration activities, you will also provide support to your consultant in respect of the market review process.

  • In a collaborative way you challenge wider processes to enable and drive improvements to service whilst ensuring compliance.

  • The exceptional customer experience that you provide will drive improved retention and enables the opportunity for cross and upselling of our business portfolio of solutions.
  • You will work closely with the Group Risk Operations Manager within their area of responsibility to ensure that the administration of our clients' group policies is carried out in accordance with relevant policies. The job holder will also provide supportto the Head of Commercial Operations in relation to nominated business projects.
  • You build strong internal, client and provider relationships based on respect that develops and builds loyalty, retention and increased client benefit spend.
Market Knowledge & Technology

  • You stay up to date and proactively seek to broaden your market knowledge and understanding of key trends.
  • You understand the need for accurate client data in the systems including contacts, existing portfolios, markets and partners.
  • You understand the scope and advantage of our technology platforms, such as "Empower", to client's business needs.
  • You embrace Technology in order to deliver outstanding client solutions.
What do we need from you?

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of group risk policies is preferred, primarily death in service, income protection, critical illness and other employee benefits.
  • You have Microsoft Office knowledge and are able to use Excel to formulate spreadsheets as required.
  • You can create a basic Word document with text and manipulate template reports.
  • You strive to be "the best you can be" to deliver high standards of work for the benefit of your clients.
  • Your professionalism increases the positive aspect of customerexperience and underpins their loyalty.
  • You take ownership of your portfolio and proactively manage the associated workload, flagging client risks and opportunities.

  • Your positive attitude and analytical insight enable consultants to retain and close more business.
  • Experience in administration.
  • Experience of working with an Employee Benefits Consultancy or with an Insurance Provider is preferred but not essential.
  • CII GR1 qualified, preferred.
