This is an exciting time to join the Radiotherapy team at ESNEFT.

Due to the retirement of our two radiotherapy service managers, the Trust is recruiting a Head of Radiotherapy Services to manage the departments in Ipswich and Colchester Hospitals.

The hospitals are equipped with a total 7 Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators. VMAT, image guidance, respiratory gating and SABR treatments are delivered routinely. The service is complimented by CT simulators, orthovoltage units, mould room facilities, Eclipse TPS and ARIA. Gynaecological brachytherapy is delivered in Colchester with plans to expand the service for prostate and skin. A replacement TrueBeam will be commissioned in Ipswich in 2023 and a replacement CT is being procured for Colchester.

A full equipment replacement and service development strategy is being drafted outlining the future configuration of treatment machines, imaging and ancillary equipment.

The service is staffed by multi-professional teams of clinical oncologists, therapeutic radiographers, clinical scientists, dosimetrists and engineers. The holistic needs of patients are met by nursing staff and Macmillan radiographers.

To realise the full potential of an integrated radiotherapy service, the Trust is looking for a dynamic and forward thinking registered Therapeutic Radiographer who has recent management experience to provide professional leadership of our radiotherapy services and drive forward service development and integration.
