We are looking for an experienced and motivated Consultant Psychiatrist, to join West London Forensic services, based at The Orchard, St Bernard's Hospital Ealing.

This is a part time post based within the women's secure service

You will have a role providing inpatient care within the Women's secure service. Garnet ward has well
- established multi
- disciplinary clinical team commissioned to provide rehabilitation and care for 10 women with mental disorders who require treatment in conditions of medium security.

The post has up to 5 sessions on Garnet ward

The post holder will be expected to provide of clinical leadership to the multi-disciplinary team, promoting harmonious team working to ensure a high quality service, with a focus on safety, the experience of the women, and effectiveness.

The role will include

  • Liaison with a wide range of external agencies as required e.g. other mental health teams, criminal justice services, the Ministry of Justice
  • Assessments of referrals to the service from inpatient settings.
  • Assessment, admission planning, inpatient treatment and discharge planning as part of the CPA process, renewal of detention, reports for the MOJ on restricted patients, preparation of reports for and attendance at tribunals and court as needed.
  • Leadership in safeguarding practice
  • Attendance at weekly clinical team meetings, reflective practice, community meetings and monthly clinical improvement group meetings.
  • Supervision and line management of a trainee doctor attached to the post.
  • Adhering to trust policies and maintaining clinical records
