CMD ltd is part of the Makefast group, the company is one of the UK's leading manufacturers and suppliers of a wide range of quality products for superyachts.

CMD creates bespoke engineered systems such as doors, windows, and roof systems as well as completely custom solutions for the world's most exclusive boatbuilders.


The company prides itself in the ability to design and manufacture engineering innovative and contemporary products and the use of quality materials.

The company is expanding and is looking to grow it's team to meet increased demand from the superyacht industry.


The Role
Overview - Coordinate all parts from design engineering through to production. From purchase through to kiting. Goods in, quality control and supplier liaison. This is a hands on role for a detail orientated individual with a good basis of engineering knowledge.


The individual will work with and co-operate closely with internal and external stakeholders, design, sales and production teams to help ensure the products meet all company standards whilst ensuring that customer requirements are understood, interpreted and project managed.

Support specific projects ensuring timescales and budget requirements are achieved.


Parts and stock management
Coordinate stock. Keeping accurate inventory of all received items, meticulous organisation of parts with accompanying engineering drawings.

Prepare project kits for assembly and processing in production.


Assisting with Projects - Procurement
Responsible for the procurement of materials and components as required to meet project requirements.

Monitoring supplier lead-times, non-conformities, and pricing.

Ensuring that project purchases are cost effective and that customer requirements are met.


Responsible for managing the procurement activities of the project from initial enquiry to manufacture and producing and maintaining project plans to ensure key dates are met.

Organising project kits, stores, inventory and ensuring stock takes and reporting of quantities and values are accurate.


KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE Essential to the job:

  • Purchasing, procurement or quality systems.
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail.
  • An understanding of mechanical and electrical components and materials.
  • Competent MS office products

  • Passport & Driving License (Role includes some travel to international customers).
