Established in 2004, we work for a range of blue chip customers across the UK and Europe providing technical consultancy and engineering services.

The Role


In this role you will be working with a growing team of technologists and consultants (currently 15) delivering across 5+ client engagements concurrently.


This role works with the Director of Engineering to ensure that the delivery team operates efficiently and productively, allowing them to focus on the customer's objectives and providing high quality customer service.

The role also ensures that progress and issues are made visible to Apto Management.


This is a non-technical role, but working alongside technologists, so some experience of working in a technical or professional services environment is desirable.

Success in this role will enable career progression into broader company operations management activities and responsibility.

To succeed in this role you will be an organised, methodical person.

Working with both internal and external stakeholders the ability to provide concise reporting, communicate clearly and effectively use your time are key skills.

Familiarity with managing project budgets, and planning resource allocation are desirable skills.

Understanding of basic project management principles:
defining project objectives, planning, risk management, communications and stakeholder management are also desirable skills.


Specific Tasks

  • Project Planning
  • Recording all relevant and accurate project detail for use as a point of referral for colleagues


  • Stakeholder Management

  • Arrange, attend and lead meetings (with internal and external stakeholders) to ensure projects are planned correctly and start on schedule
  • Utilisation Tracking and Management
  • Monitoring and managing resource allocation against a budget. Create appropriate reporting to identify risks to the resourcing schedule and propose alternative options.
  • Ensure project process is followed including reporting process, project artefacts and that timesheets are completed fully and in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor projects, reporting on progress vs budget and vs plan, work with the team to identify and communicate schedule/budget deviations and risks/issues, and corrective actions required.


  • Risk Management

  • Flag, escalate and manage issues as per the delivery process
  • Obtaining customer sign off for invoicing
  • Gaining Customer Feedback
  • Ensure that project delivery process is being followed and communicate deviations
  • Organize and attend customer project meetings (typically remotely) where needed, organise project sprints
  • Assist finance with invoicing process by ensuring project data is captured and entered into internal systems correctly
  • Contribute to staff performance reviews
  • Document project processes and procedures with the aim of making project delivery more systematic and repeatable

Salary:
£25,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
