Global Accounting Network are working exclusively with this leading sports business based in the midlands. We are looking for recently qualified accountants (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) from either an industry or a practice background.

The role offers a great opportunityto break into the sports industry and has exposure across core accounting, FP&A, business partnering and also team management reporting into an excellent CFO.

The Role

  • Leading on all aspects of financial accounting and controls
  • Review of finance processes to streamline and automate
  • Business partner and work closely with other Managers and departments; particularly cricket and academy, commercial, operational and inhouse conference and events teams
  • Provide financial information to budget holders
  • Reporting line into the Chief Financial Officer and will manage two direct reports, 2x Finance Assistants
  • The role is a broad one and you will be required to get involved in daytoday transactional work as well as more strategic projects
The Person

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA,/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of good internal financial control systems
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of Sage is preferrable
  • A strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and manipulate large volumes of data
  • Proactive in looking for opportunities to drive improvements
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills with the capability to interpret data and drive conclusions and recommendations
