Northern Ireland Housing Executive - Building Surveyor - South Region
Do have experience in building surveys and inspections, preparing drawings and using IT systems?
- Hourly Rate: £11.39 per hour
- Hours of Work: 37 hrs per week, Monday to Friday 9.00 am pm
- Holidays: 36 days pro rata
- Duration: Temporary, ongoing
Duties include:
- To carry out physical surveys and inspections to deliver the rolling stock condition survey programme ensuring that asset data on the condition and attributes for each Housing Executive residential property is recorded and up loaded onto the Asset Management System.
- To contribute to the provision of a comprehensive Survey service to the highest professional standard.
- To liaise with other professions, Housing Management staff and tenants, where required to ensure a customer focused and responsive delivery of the service.
- To meet with the Survey Team Leader to discuss progress on the completion of the 5 year survey programme ensuring continual delivery of a quality service.
- To prepare design and construction drawings and specifications for various types of commissions undertaken by Asset Strategy, if and when required, via computer aided design & drafting tools etc.
- To undertake and assist with tenant consultation as required
- Accessing/egressing from loft and roof spaces.
Criteria:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional/technical qualification in a relevant Building/Construction discipline, plus 2 years post qualification relevant experience OR BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant Building/Construction discipline, plus 3 years' relevant postqualification experience OR Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development or experiential learning and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Relevant experience must include carrying out physical surveys, inspections and the provision of technical reports in a domestic or commercial environment.
- Can demonstrate experience in:
b. Preparing basic plans/drawings following onsite surveys.
c. Inspecting completed works to ensure it meets satisfactory quality standards compliant with current statutory requirements (e.g. Building Control etc.)
d. Using I.T. systems/ mobile devices to carry out all technical duties and communication.
- Must have full current driving licence, access to a form of transport and business use insurance.
- As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
