We are looking for an experienced, talented individual to join our practice in Newport to cover both Reception and Administrative tasks.


A typical day in this role would include:

  • Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required
  • Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently
  • Manage all enquires in an effective manner
  • Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patient's healthcare records using the photocopier machine.
  • Input data into the patient's healthcare records as necessary
  • Process requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitor's letters and DVLA forms in conjunction with other members of the team.
  • Read code data onto Vision
  • Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
  • Manage all administrative queries as necessary
  • Carry out system searches as requested
  • Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
Previous experience in Primary Care (GP) setting would be a distinct advantage but is not essential. What is essential is experience, resilience and a 'can do' attitude.

We are offering between £9.70- £10.70, depending upon experience, for this role for a 3 day contract

You will need to be fully flexible to work between the hours of 7:4- 18:45 on a rota basis.

Normally this role would work Monday - Friday however you would be required to work Saturdays when we run Flu clinics - again on a rota basis.
