  • Please note: Priority applicants will be seen in the first instance
  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead for Operational Facilities Management following the retirement of the existing postholder. The Corporate Asset and Facilities Management (CAFM) Service has recently restructured to position itself as a catalyst for change across the organisation, and we are looking to recruit a dynamic leader to help to drive this change.
    The Service
  • Given the challenges facing public services, it is essential that we integrate our service delivery to ensure improved user experience and greater efficiency in the way that we deliver services to our residents. The CAFM Service plays a pivotal role in supporting the Council to deliver its full range of services and is critical to transforming the way that we operate.
  • You will be joining a highperforming service, working with talented individuals who want to make a real difference and who also have a sense of fun. Our mantra is that its not just what we do that's important to us but the way that we do it.
    The Role
  • This newly formed role will be required to design and deliver management arrangements and communication systems to respond to what are dynamic current and future service requirements. The Lead for Operational Facilities Management is a strategic role, providing highly effective and customerfocused operational facilities management (FM) services to the Council, ensuring a compliant, safe, secure, clean and suitable environment for staff and service users.
  • As the Council's professional Lead for Operational FM, the postholder will be responsible for the provision of a portfolio of circa 300 property assets, with a value of some £0.5 billion. The service is provided by an appropriate blend of internal delivery and external consultants / contractors. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements, innovating to provide FM excellence while overseeing the sourcing and provision of FM services across the property estate. A key aspect of the role will be to deliver improved performance and lower cost from better sourcing, contract management and delivery of specific projects. The role will have overall responsibility for leading the development, implementation and management of information systems for the Service, and the effective operation of its front door through its Service Desk.
    The Person
Closing date: Monday 20th March 2023
  • Interviews: Thursday 6th April 2023
  • We may utilise digital interview methods. On 30 January 2019, the Council declared a climate emergency in a bold move to step up its action to tackle climate change. We reserve the right to close vacancies prior to the advertised closing date, an early submission is advised.
