Purpose
To work as part of the Finance team of the Credit Union in order to meet the organisation's aims and objectives
To ensure payments are added to member accounts in a timely manner and to work in conjunction with collections
Handling dormant/deceased accounts and ensuring that these are reviewed on a regular basis. Including running end of day and reconciling bank statements
Covering areas of finance administration
Be part of the team ensuring the Credit Union members have an all-round customer experience

Responsibilities
Payrolls for Members Savings and Loan Payments
- Build a rapport with key contacts within payroll departments for our members across the country
- Ensuring amendments regarding member accounts are sent to relevant payroll departments on specific dates throughout month
- Reconcile payroll for member savings and loan payments once the Credit Union are in receipt of them and run onto member accounts
- Investigate discrepancies with payroll departments
- Work together with the collections team handing bad debts promptly
- Make initial contact with the member immediately once savings have not been received
- Request Direct Debits via banking system for members twice monthly. Once received & reconciled, run Direct Debit payments onto member accounts
- Contact members who have not made payment via Direct Debit, i.e. cancelled their
- Reconciling bank statements daily
- Taking Debit Card payments from our members
- Lodging cheques
- Running End of Day procedures
- Dealing with deceased accounts
- Handling dormant accounts
- Supervising the lottery procedure, including running transactions onto member accounts, reconciliation and communicating with members of the lottery
- Ensure users are aligned with the correct system setting
- From time to time, you will assist with collections working alongside the credit controller within the finance team, this will entail providing support and holiday/absence cover
- Assist with finance administration work
- Undertake additional training as and when required
- To positively contribute to the culture of the Credit Union
- Any other duties that may reasonably be requested by the Credit Union
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- At a minimum, GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above in Maths and English
- Confident using Outlook and Excel
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Analytical & can multitask
- Understanding and appreciation of the Credit Union movement
- Experience of payment services
