Description
You will play a central role in supporting our offices by providing a broad administrative service.

Your day to day remit will include:

  • Filing at regular intervals
  • Completing all allocated tasks within required timeframe and to the required level of accuracy
  • Supporting the Solicitor, Legal Executives and other Legal Secretaries with administrative tasks and action work as delegated to you
  • Opening new instructions accurately, inputting data and preparing initial letters and documents
  • Answering the telephone and general reception duties
  • Processing incoming mail
  • Audio typing from dictation
  • Document generation, including formatting and use of legal document templates
  • Preparation of court bundles
  • Any other duties and tasks that may be allocated and required
You will be able to demonstrate a supportive, flexible and driven ethos and will have accumulated the following experience and skills:

  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of literacy and numeracy
  • Effective record keeping
  • Satisfactory IT and computing skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of data accuracy

Essential Criteria:


  • At least 6 months experience working in a legal environment
  • At least 1 years' experience of administration and secretarial duties
  • At least 6 months experience of audio typing from dictation

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience of matrimonial law issues and conveyancing would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given

Package Description

Salary is pro-rata. The role will be 19.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 9.30am to 1pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and on a Wednesday from 9.30am to 4pm, with an initial probationary period of 3 months - Whilst the job is listed as temporary for 6 months, there may be a possibility for this to be made permanent following the probationary period, if the incoming volume of workflow allows.
