Rapid Time Recruit is currently searching for a Transport Operator for our client situated in the Knowsley Area.
The client aims to expand their Transport division by recruiting a Transport Operator to offer primary support to the management team.
Your duties will involve coordinating with drivers to ensure strict compliance with regulations. Additionally, you will support the management team in effectively overseeing the fleet and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.This is a permanent position with a very established family run company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct driver debriefs, ensure Tacho cards are downloaded, paperwork is completed accurately, folders are organized, PODs are scanned.
- Regularly check vehicle standards for defects during fleet walkaround checks reporting and documenting any accidents / damage to the management team.
- Ensure proper preparation, support, and management of driver infringement reports. Make sure to brief and coach the drivers and obtain signed reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinating with suppliers and the internal team to manage the booking of MOT's, breakdowns, repairs, and PMI inspections for a fleet of 25 vehicles in line with the DVSA regulations.
- Perform routine DVLA checks on all drivers to verify they meet insurance requirements. Keep the driver calendar current by maintaining precise records of license expiry and renewal dates.
- Record holidays, leave, and rest periods on the driver's calendar for tracking and organization.
- Raise any nonconformances immediately to the relevant person and / or your Line manager.
- Communicate with other members of the Transport Department, Planning, HR, and management.
- General transport administration responsibilities include data analysis and entering information into spreadsheets.
- Experience working within a transport department (MIN 2 year)
- Experience in a customer facing role / customer service experience.
- Understanding of EU / Working Time Regulations and Tacho management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and coach teams to ensure excellent performance.
- Ability to confidently communicate at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong IT skills.
