Description

Milk Education are working with a primary school in Leeds who are looking for an Autism Support Worker for particular students in their school.

This could be on a 1:1 basis or with a small group of students.

Most of the students have Autism but may have some other special educational needs so experience with SEND students will be required.

The additional SEND needs may include; ADHD, dyslexia etc. This is a full time contract that will be on-going until the school recruit for this permanently.

This role requires you to support the school to develop students to cope better with the things they find challenging whether this is during their school day or at home.

Required Skills & Experience

Previous experience of working in a Primary or Special Educational Needs school or an education/residential setting (Pupil Referral Unit's, Secure Units, Children's Residency, Care assistant, Support Worker backgrounds are also ideal)
Ideally hold a UK teaching assistant qualification Level 2 and above
Strong and positive behaviour management with a flexible approach
Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident (no sponsorships)
Have an employment reference dated within the last 2 years
