What you will do


As a Process Specialist, you will work across several of the Processes areas managed to ensure support provision to the relevant Process Managers.

You will work with both the Software Asset Manager and the Configuration & Hardware Asset Manager to maintain a set of business practices for IT Assets across the firm joining, inventory, contractual, financial and risk management responsibilities to assist in the management of the overall lifecycle of the assets

You will also assist the Software Asset Manager in managing the firm's software portfolio and key third party suppliers, collaborating with internal teams/stakeholders such as Procurement, In-House Legal, Product Owners and relevant Stakeholders across the firm, in addition to the development and implementation of the SAM strategy and processes necessary for the effective management, control and protection of software assets throughout all stages of the product lifecycle


What you will have

  • Business Competencies_
  • Good understanding of statistical and analytical principles and processes
  • Ability to develop good working relationships across the breadth of the IT function and effectively share knowledge between individuals and teams to contribute to overall effectiveness of IT function
  • Commercial acumen including an understanding of the overall picture of how the IT service costs and value add to the business
  • Has the financial acumen to understand the management of a large budget and is able to operate all internal financial processes
  • High level of personal credibility, impact and influence with proven ability to work effectively and persuasively at all levels of the business
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both orally and written
  • Ability to develop good working relationships across the breadth of the IT function and effectively share knowledge between individuals and teams to contribute to overall effectiveness of project and service improvement work.
  • An enthusiasm and passion for technology. Plus the ability to promote technology within the firm, using business friendly language, and seek out opportunities with tangible business benefits

  • Knowledge_
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of the ITIL disciplines, particularly SAM & Transition Management
  • Knowledge of development lifecycle for technologies used in Allen & Overy
  • Has a broad knowledge and understanding of IT concepts and architectures, coupled practical knowledge of Change Management the principles and processes required for implementing and delivering such services
  • Experience_
  • Practical experience of complex IT operations environment
  • Experience of transitioning complex, critical services into live operation
  • Strong experience of working within a managed service environment
  • Strong experience of project management and project frameworks
  • Proven experience of data analysis and good numeracy, analytical and reporting skills
  • Strong experience and ability to prioritise, execute tasks and make sound decisions in a busy pressured environment
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as Process Specialist across any of the ITIL functions
  • Qualifications_
  • As a minimum, ITIL Service Capability qualification. Alternatively, the completion of the Service Lifecycle ITIL modules
  • Intermediate qualification
