Food Officer - Holding the statutory qualification

An exciting and challenging opportunity has become available for a qualified Food Standards professional to join the Food Team within the Trading Standards Service.


The Food Team provide business support and education on relevant legislation, undertake food premises inspections and sampling activity, resolve complaints, and conduct criminal investigations into the more serious food-related matters and instigate appropriate enforcement action.


You must also have a working knowledge and experience of food standards legislation and enforcement, the statutory Food Law Code of Practice (England) and the Food Law Practice Guidance (England).


You may be required to work outside core hours when necessary, which can include some weekend working, and may on occasion be required to work across the Service.

A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
